Doing okay for our 25 person setup

The features are all here, some are deeper than others. The Customer AI surfaces leads that went quiet, and two of them became orders last quarter.

Cons

Project reports barely customisable

Our accountant in Bloemfontein recommended it, good call

The upgrade from Essentials paid for itself the first month when a job we thought was profitable turned out not to be. Inventory quantities stay honest because every sale and purchase moves the count automatically. Everything the sales rep quotes on the road is visible to the office in real time.

Pros

Class and location tracking for branches; inventory with automatic cost of sales

Cons

Only four custom fields

Mostly happy in Kimberley, a few gripes

Very capable software that asks for a proper setup effort first. The project reports are good but you cannot customise them much at this tier. Project reports show labour, materials and overheads against each job while it runs.

Pros

Customer AI resurfaces quiet leads; handles agency, workshop and retail patterns

Cons

Opening stock setup takes real effort

Purchase orders brought order to our buying

Moved our retail shop onto it in May and the stockholding number finally means something. Our Standard Bank feed feeds all of it, and reconciling takes minutes. VAT stays right through all of it, stock purchases, project invoicing, everything at 15%.

Pros

Five user seats with real permissions

Cons

Opening stock setup takes real effort

Solid choice for our Ballito business

Moved our retail shop onto it in July and the stockholding number finally means something. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time. The favourite plan for a reason. Recommended without reservation.

Working well for our 7 person team

Stock alerts warned us before the December rush emptied the shelves, that alone was worth the year's subscription. Our FNB feed feeds all of it, and reconciling takes minutes.

Still glad we chose it, 2 years later

We build kitchen cabinets and for the first time I know the margin per job while the job is still open. The jump in capability over Essentials is far bigger than the jump in price. Class and location tracking up to forty covers our branches with room to spare.

Pros

Handles agency, workshop and retail patterns

Cons

Annual price increases are dependable

Decent fit for a 5 person company

It does projects brilliantly and inventory adequately. Class tracking capped at forty sounds fine until you get creative with divisions.

Class and location tracking for branches

Cons

Opening stock setup takes real effort

Frustrating experience for our 28 person team

For what we pay now the gaps are harder to accept. Our counts drifted every month and tracing the cause took a consultant.

Cons

Setup effort far beyond the marketing. Inventory support knowledge is shallow

Frustrating experience for our 130 person team

The setup dragged on and the promised payoff arrived late and partial. We asked support about negative stock and got three contradictory answers.

Cons

Inventory support knowledge is shallow. No serial tracking for warranty work

The plan our Boksburg agency should have started on

The upgrade from Essentials paid for itself the first month when a job we thought was profitable turned out not to be. VAT stays right through all of it, stock purchases, project invoicing, everything at 15%. This is the plan QuickBooks should lead with in South Africa.

Pros

Strong reporting at this tier; vAT correct through stock and projects

Cons

Annual price increases are dependable

Almost perfect for our agency

It does projects brilliantly and inventory adequately. Inventory has no serial numbers, no batches and no multiple warehouses, know that going in. Class tracking capped at forty sounds fine until you get creative with divisions.

Pros

Inventory with automatic cost of sales

Cons

No serial numbers, batches or multi warehouse

For our size it is right, though I can see where it ends. Class tracking capped at forty sounds fine until you get creative with divisions. Everything the sales rep quotes on the road is visible to the office in real time.

Mostly happy in Vanderbijlpark, a few gripes

For our size it is right, though I can see where it ends. Class tracking capped at forty sounds fine until you get creative with divisions. Custom fields are limited to four, which our workshop filled immediately.

Exactly what our 8 person business needed

The favourite tier badge on the pricing page is accurate, this is the plan that fits real businesses. Project reports show labour, materials and overheads against each job while it runs. This is the plan QuickBooks should lead with in South Africa.

Happy customer in Knysna

Five user seats meant the whole admin team finally works in one system. Everything the sales rep quotes on the road is visible to the office in real time. Five stars, and I do not hand those out easily.

Pros

Big capability jump for a modest price step

Inventory tracking that a small importer can trust

The upgrade from Essentials paid for itself the first month when a job we thought was profitable turned out not to be. Budgets against actuals per class made our monthly management meeting actually useful.

The project reports promised more than they gave

Stock accuracy problems ate the time the software was meant to save. We asked support about negative stock and got three contradictory answers. Our counts drifted every month and tracing the cause took a consultant.

Good but not perfect for our Mbombela team

Good software with a big appetite for configuration. Purchase orders convert to bills when the stock arrives, one flow from order to payment.
