Doing the job for us in Benoni

As a small importer in Cape Town, the inventory tracking does exactly what our size of operation needs. Budgets against actuals per class made our monthly management meeting actually useful. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time. Our margins have never been this visible.

Pros

Low stock alerts that fire in time

Solid choice for our Cape Town business

The class tracking lets us report our consulting and training divisions separately from one set of books. The Customer AI surfaces leads that went quiet, and two of them became orders last quarter. Our margins have never been this visible.

Pros

Strong reporting at this tier

Cons

Annual price increases are dependable

Good but not perfect for our Upington team

Happy after 10 years, with a wishlist that never shrinks. The feed hiccupped twice this year and stock purchases had to be matched by hand. The Customer AI surfaces leads that went quiet, and two of them became orders last quarter.

Pros

Handles agency, workshop and retail patterns

Working well for our 70 person team

The upgrade from Essentials paid for itself the first month when a job we thought was profitable turned out not to be. The Customer AI surfaces leads that went quiet, and two of them became orders last quarter.

Pros

Inventory with automatic cost of sales

Good but not perfect for our East London team

Very capable software that asks for a proper setup effort first. Custom fields are limited to four, which our workshop filled immediately. Our Standard Bank feed feeds all of it, and reconciling takes minutes.

Pros

Class and location tracking for branches

Cons

No serial numbers, batches or multi warehouse

Worth every rand for a product business

We build kitchen cabinets and for the first time I know the margin per job while the job is still open. The favourite plan for a reason. Recommended without reservation.

Cons

Only four custom fields

Doing the job for us in Polokwane

We build kitchen cabinets and for the first time I know the margin per job while the job is still open. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time. Inventory quantities stay honest because every sale and purchase moves the count automatically.

Pros

VAT correct through stock and projects

Cons

No serial numbers, batches or multi warehouse

Mostly happy in Potchefstroom, a few gripes

Excellent plan overall with a couple of honest limitations. Custom fields are limited to four, which our workshop filled immediately. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time.

Pros

Customer AI resurfaces quiet leads; low stock alerts that fire in time

Cons

Only four custom fields

Low stock alerts saved our busiest season

Cost of sales calculates itself as we sell, which ended our monthly margin guessing ritual. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time. Project reports show labour, materials and overheads against each job while it runs. If you sell products or run jobs, start at this tier and thank yourself later.

Pros

VAT correct through stock and projects

Good decision for a 18 person company

Our two branches each run as a location and the owner sees them side by side. Reporting at this tier is genuinely strong, profit by project, by class, by location, by month.

Pros

Inventory with automatic cost of sales

Still glad we chose it, 7 years later

We run a 30 person agency and project profitability is the reason we can price with confidence. Our Capitec feed feeds all of it, and reconciling takes minutes. For an agency or contractor it is close to perfect.

Pros

Strong reporting at this tier; handles agency, workshop and retail patterns

Cons

Feed hiccups mean manual stock matching

Class tracking capped at forty

Not what we hoped for our East London business

Mostly happy in Durban, a few gripes

The features are all here, some are deeper than others. The price is fair but the annual increases arrive reliably. Purchase orders convert to bills when the stock arrives, one flow from order to payment.

Disappointed after 3 years

For what we pay now the gaps are harder to accept. The forty class limit forced us to flatten our reporting structure.

Pros

No serial tracking for warranty work. Inventory support knowledge is shallow

The plan our Knysna agency should have started on

As a small importer in Pietermaritzburg, the inventory tracking does exactly what our size of operation needs. Everything the sales rep quotes on the road is visible to the office in real time.

Pros

Inventory with automatic cost of sales

Cons

Project reports barely customisable

Our accountant in Potchefstroom recommended it, good call

After 2 years on this plan I still have not found the thing it cannot handle at our size. Low stock alerts are set per item and they fire early enough to reorder in time.

Inventory with automatic cost of sales; budgets against actuals per division

Serving our Umhlanga operation well

The favourite tier badge on the pricing page is accurate, this is the plan that fits real businesses. The jump in capability over Essentials is far bigger than the jump in price. This is the plan QuickBooks should lead with in South Africa.

VAT correct through stock and projects
