Mostly happy in Pietermaritzburg, a few gripes

The engine is flawless, the era change around it less so. The calculator based cloud pricing makes budgeting a guessing game until the quote lands. Desktop dies with the 2025 to 26 tax year and not everyone is ready.

Pros

Journal export to Xero and FreeAgent

Cons

Transition period support waits

Support quality dipped during the transition

Transition support did not match the product's usual standard. Tickets during the migration window took days instead of hours. The cloud quote for our book nearly doubled our software line.

Pros

Polished payslip layouts

Cons

Pension history gaps after migration

Expected better, Richards Bay customer

We loved the desktop and the desktop is being retired under us. Training the team on the cloud workflows cost a week we had not budgeted. Tickets during the migration window took days instead of hours.

Pension history gaps after migration

The bureau licence is outrageous value

After 3 years of desktop comfort the cloud move asks patience of us. The calculator based cloud pricing makes budgeting a guessing game until the quote lands.

Cons

Cloud pricing needs a calculator quote

Decent fit for a 30 person company

The engine is flawless, the era change around it less so. The calculator based cloud pricing makes budgeting a guessing game until the quote lands. Our quote for the cloud came in higher than the old desktop licence, noticeably.

Pros

HMRC recognised RTI that never fails

Cons

Some workflows smoother on desktop still

Not what we hoped for our Randburg business

The forced cloud migration landed in our busiest quarter. Two client files migrated with pension history gaps we caught by luck. Training the team on the cloud workflows cost a week we had not budgeted.

Cons

Migration landed on busy season

Solid choice for our Springs business

Our bureau in Pietermaritzburg runs 12 UK client payrolls on it and pay day has never once slipped. The employee app shows payslips, P60s and leave without a single email from us. Batch processing runs a dozen small employers before the first coffee.

Pros

Employee app for payslips and P60s; journal export to Xero and FreeAgent

Our accountant in eMalahleni recommended it, good call

We onboarded a new UK client book of thirty employers in a fortnight. Journal exports post into Xero and FreeAgent for the clients on cloud books. Furlough era complexity was handled quickly, which earned lasting trust. Recommended to every outsourcing practice we meet.

Pros

Statutory pay correct first time

Cons

Cloud pricing needs a calculator quote

Auto enrolment used to terrify our juniors, the software walks them through it. Batch processing runs a dozen small employers before the first coffee. UK payroll processed from Durban, professionally, profitably, calmly.

We love the product and squint at the new pricing model. The calculator based cloud pricing makes budgeting a guessing game until the quote lands. New tax year updates arrive seamlessly with the rates already right.

Good but not perfect for our Durban team

We love the product and squint at the new pricing model. It is UK and Irish legislation only, an SA employer needs local software.

The backbone of our UK payroll bureau

The engine is flawless, the era change around it less so. Desktop dies with the 2025 to 26 tax year and not everyone is ready. The price per client is low enough that small employers stay profitable to serve.

Our accountant in Klerksdorp recommended it, good call

Statutory sick pay, maternity, paternity, it calculates all of it correctly first time. Furlough era complexity was handled quickly, which earned lasting trust. Payslip layouts are polished enough that clients notice the upgrade.
