Mining · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for Less than 6 months

Deep system, occasionally slow screens

Good system that keeps reminding you it is licensed per user. The licensing matrix took our IT manager a weekend to truly understand. Premium versus Essentials forced a decision we did not feel equipped to make.

Pros

Scales without replatforming

Cons

Premium versus Essentials is a hard call

Everything lives where Outlook and Teams already live

The product is excellent, the journey to it is a project with a capital P. The out of the box reports are average, Power BI is where reporting actually happens.

Pros

Proper inventory costing methods; appSource marketplace for add ons

Cons

Implementation is a real project

Strong system, budget for the partner hours

Very capable once configured, and configuring took longer than promised. The out of the box reports are average, Power BI is where reporting actually happens.

Cons

Licensing model takes study

Solid choice with honest overheads

Very capable once configured, and configuring took longer than promised. Some screens feel heavy and a warehouse clerk notices the clicks.

Pros

Two way Excel integration; appSource marketplace for add ons

Cons

Partner hours are part of the cost

Proper ERP that speaks Excel fluently

Good system that keeps reminding you it is licensed per user. The out of the box reports are average, Power BI is where reporting actually happens. The AppSource marketplace had a payroll connector and an EDI add on ready to go.

Pros

Dimensions beat cost centre hacks

Cons

Licensing model takes study

Approvals stopped living in email threads

Our IT manager appreciates that patching and uptime are Microsoft's problem now.

Pros

Good but not perfect for our Bloemfontein team

A genuinely strong ERP that demands respect during implementation. Partner hours are part of the running cost, ours bills every month for something. New starters know Outlook and Excel already, so the learning curve is gentler than the last ERP.

Pros

Approvals inside Teams and Outlook; team Members licences for light users

Cons

Partner hours are part of the cost

Grew from 12 users to 18 without replatforming

After 4 years the system has absorbed every growth spurt we threw at it. Dimensions replaced our old cost centre hacks with something the auditors actually praised.

Pros

Two way Excel integration
