Hannelie Radebe

Operations Director · Impala Supplies SA

9 December 2024

Wholesale South Africa Used for 2+ years

Working well for our 12 person team

The monthly release cadence means we get improvements without upgrade projects. Every module posts to one ledger so the numbers agree by construction.

Cons

Implementation is a real project

Mining · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Our Springs office gave up on it

The sales demo and the delivered reality were distant cousins. A partner developer left and took the knowledge of our customisations with him. Simple changes need a change request, a quote and a fortnight.

Pros

Approvals inside Teams and Outlook

Cons

Partner dependency with no easy exit

Food & Beverage · 201–500 employees Namibia Used for 1–2 years

Decent fit for a 350 person company

Good system that keeps reminding you it is licensed per user. Some screens feel heavy and a warehouse clerk notices the clicks.

Pros

Dimensions beat cost centre hacks; appSource marketplace for add ons

Cons

SA bank feeds need connectors

Good but not perfect for our eMalahleni team

After 4 years the verdict is positive with real footnotes. Our partner customised the sales order screen without breaking a single update since.

Two way Excel integration

Cons

Wholesale · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Working well for our 22 person team

Rand billing through the CSP agreement keeps procurement calm. The Excel integration is two way, edit a journal in a sheet and publish it back.

Pros

Scales without replatforming; team Members licences for light users

Working well for our 60 person team

The monthly release cadence means we get improvements without upgrade projects. Multi company means our two entities close in the same afternoon. It is the last ERP decision we plan to make for a decade.

A quiet workhorse for 2 years now

Team Members licences at a fraction of the price cover all the approve and view users. Uptime has been effectively perfect for 2 years. Our operations finally run on one version of the truth.

Pros

Power BI reads live data natively; two way Excel integration

4 December 2024

Construction · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Grew from 12 users to 160 without replatforming

The VAT setup was handled by our partner and the returns have reconciled cleanly ever since. Our partner customised the sales order screen without breaking a single update since. The audit trail is complete enough that our year end queries halved. Worth the project, worth the licences, worth the change management.

Doing okay for our 20 person setup

Very capable once configured, and configuring took longer than promised. Some screens feel heavy and a warehouse clerk notices the clicks. The AppSource marketplace had a payroll connector and an EDI add on ready to go.

Good but not perfect for our Cape Town team

Our 600 user rollout landed on time and on budget

A genuinely strong ERP that demands respect during implementation. Getting SA specific bank integration working needed a third party connector. Multi company means our two entities close in the same afternoon.

Pros

AppSource marketplace for add ons

Cons
