Not what we hoped for our Potchefstroom business

The bank feed problems turned my simple books into a weekly chore. Cancelling required more clicks than signing up ever did.

Working well for our 6 person team

Moved off a spreadsheet in April and closed my first proper month end a week later. Being able to raise an invoice on my phone in the client's parking lot is the feature I did not know I needed.

Got paid faster the first month

The dashboard shows who owes me money the moment I log in, which changed how I chase. It reminds customers about overdue invoices for me, which spared me the awkward calls.

Good but not perfect for our East London team

It does the basics really well and stops abruptly after the basics. VAT setup needed my accountant's help, the defaults are not South African out of the box. The promo pricing is great until it ends, then the debit order doubles and you notice.

My accountant logs in free, that sold me

Accountant access being free meant my tax practitioner just logged in and sorted my first VAT return with me. The mobile app is the best I have used in this category, honestly better than the desktop browser for daily work. VAT at 15% is tracked on everything and the report matches what goes onto eFiling.

Freelancing in Bloemfontein got a lot more organised

For a true one person show it is great, we stopped being one person. Support is chat first and the first response is always an article I have already read.

Mostly happy in Kimberley, a few gripes

It does the basics really well and stops abruptly after the basics. There is no bill management, so supplier invoices still live in my inbox. Being able to raise an invoice on my phone in the client's parking lot is the feature I did not know I needed.

Good decision for a 9 person company

I do my own books with no training and the VAT figures my accountant checks are always right. It nudged me to send a quote follow up that turned into my biggest job this year. The mobile app is the best I have used in this category, honestly better than the desktop browser for daily work.

Our accountant in Centurion recommended it, good call

As a freelancer my admin happens on Sunday evenings, and it now takes half an hour. Quotes convert to invoices with one tap and clients pay against them directly. Invoices look genuinely professional and clients can pay straight from the email. No regrets, and my accountant is happier too.

It took one afternoon to set up including importing my customer list. Support chat sorted my bank connection question inside twenty minutes. For any one person business still on spreadsheets, just take the trial.

Still glad we chose it, 5 years later

My accountant suggested QuickBooks when I registered the company and it has been painless since. It nudged me to send a quote follow up that turned into my biggest job this year. For a sole trader I honestly cannot think of better value.

Good software wearing tight boundaries. The chart of accounts cap at 250 sounds like plenty until your accountant starts restructuring.
