Nice product whose price creeps up with every hire. Per head billing that was cute at ten people is a line item at forty. The profile pages make a distributed team feel less like email addresses.

Good but not perfect for our Pretoria team

It does the essentials with charm and stops at the essentials. Per head billing that was cute at ten people is a line item at forty. Per person pricing scales down as well as up, which suited our early days.

Gets us there, with some detours

After 2 years we are fond of it and shopping quietly. Reporting is minimal, headcount and leave, do not expect analytics. Time off balances show in Slack where the team already lives.

For simple people admin it works, for people strategy look elsewhere. The HR advice add on answers UK employment law, which helps us not at all.

Exactly what our 9 person business needed

The founders did HR from a shared inbox for two years, Charlie ended that era. The profile pages make a distributed team feel less like email addresses. It never demands attention, admin happens and gets out of the way.

We outgrew it by our second funding round

For SA companies half the premium features are dead weight. We exported to a bigger platform and the migration was a weekend of CSVs.

Mostly happy in Pietermaritzburg, a few gripes

Nice product whose price creeps up with every hire. There is no payroll and no ambition to add one. Review cycles are lightweight enough that managers complete them on time.

Support was friendly right up until the questions got hard. Basic attrition reporting had to be built by hand from exports.

Our accountant in Ballito recommended it, good call
