Let us down when it counted

Marketing tried it for a quarter and staged a walkout. Simple task tracking needed a training course. We moved the non dev teams out and peace returned.

Pros

Automation trims admin

Cons

App dependence doubled costs

Our Richards Bay office gave up on it

Our configuration grew until it managed us. Simple task tracking needed a training course. Three workflow schemes for one team is a confession, and we made it.

Pros

JQL answers any delivery question

Cons

Configuration managed us. App dependence doubled costs

Mostly happy in Bloemfontein, a few gripes

Great for engineering, a translation project for everyone else. Costs step up sharply as the team crosses tier boundaries. Story points and velocity ended the loudest voice estimation method.

Pros

Confluence and repo integration; velocity and sprint metrics

Cons

Cloud has patient days

A quiet workhorse for 5 years now

After 5 years the delivery metrics tell a story we can defend to the board. The mobile app handles approvals and comments adequately. JQL answers any question about the work, once learned.

Exactly what our 15 person business needed

The free tier carried our first product team until the funding arrived. Releases collect their tickets so notes write themselves. It scales from startup board to enterprise programme.

Our accountant in Polokwane recommended it, good call

Our 130 person dev shop plans, builds and releases through it and clients trust the trail. The marketplace has an app for every gap we found. Still the answer, whatever the newcomers claim.

Cons
