Mpho Botes

Managing Director

17 April 2025

Financial Services · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Doing okay for our 95 person setup

Powerful, and priced like it knows it. Revenue recognition works for simple schedules and gets fiddly past that. The workflow builder is genuinely usable by a finance person, no consultant needed.

Pros

Workflow automation a finance team can build

Construction · 201–500 employees South Africa Used for 6–12 months

Good but not perfect for our Kimberley team

We use maybe half of it well, and that half is excellent. A few of the AI features are still labelled beta and behave like it. The seat count is generous but we use eleven of the twenty five and pay for all of them.

Pros

Twenty five user seats

Our accountant in Bloemfontein recommended it, good call

Role based access means our warehouse team, sales team and finance team each see their own world. The top tier is the first tier that feels built for companies our size.

Mining · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Doing okay for our 70 person setup

A genuinely capable tier that makes you pay for every bit of that capability. Some Advanced features clearly ship for the US first and arrive here months later.

Pros

Revenue recognition for contract businesses

Cons

Paying for seats you may not fill

2 years in and still happy

Batch invoicing pushed out four hundred invoices in the time the old way did forty. Our auditors pulled what they needed from the custom reports without a single request to us. The top tier is the first tier that feels built for companies our size.

Cons

Priced for companies that use all of it

Our accountant in Cape Town recommended it, good call

The two way Excel sync lets our finance manager live in spreadsheets while the books stay the single source of truth. Excel sync goes both ways, edit in the sheet and the books update, which still feels like magic.

Cons

AI features still maturing

unlimited classes changed our reporting

A genuinely capable tier that makes you pay for every bit of that capability. The workflow builder is powerful once you learn its logic, and its logic takes learning.

Wholesale · 201–500 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Serving our Boksburg operation well

After outgrowing Plus we braced for an ERP project, and this turned out to be enough. Worth it for the report builder alone.

Pros

Handles higher transaction volumes smoothly

Expected better, Centurion customer

A year in, we audited what we actually used and downgraded. The workflow we needed most hit an edge case support could not untangle.

Cons

Automation edge cases with VAT unresolved. Top tier support still bounced our tickets

Happy customer in Paarl

Twelve custom fields finally cover our job numbers, rep codes and contract references at once. The backup and restore alone justifies the tier if your data matters to you. Recommended, provided you will genuinely use the automation.

Pros

Unlimited chart of accounts, classes and locations

Good but not perfect for our Sandton team

It does most of what it promises, though not all of it speaks South African yet.

Pros

Role based access with custom roles

Cons

AI features still maturing

Serving our Umhlanga operation well

Automation that a finance team can build itself

We moved a 80 person company off a creaking ERP and onto Advanced, and the monthly saving is embarrassing. Performance stays snappy even with our transaction volumes, which Plus was starting to feel. The backup and restore alone justifies the tier if your data matters to you.

Pros

Twelve custom fields; fraction of the cost of a real ERP

Happy customer in Johannesburg

The revenue recognition handles our annual contracts without the deferred income spreadsheet.

Pros

Role based access with custom roles

Cons

Dashboards lag the report builder

Food & Beverage · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Our eMalahleni office gave up on it

The automation promised simplicity and delivered a hobby. The price difference against Plus bought us features we opened twice. Nobody at support could explain the revenue recognition behaviour we were seeing.

Cons

Downgraded and lost nothing we missed

Financial Services · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 6–12 months

Working well for our 35 person team

Twelve custom fields finally cover our job numbers, rep codes and contract references at once. Priority support at this tier actually answers with knowledge rather than articles. Unlimited chart of accounts meant our group structure finally fitted properly.

Pros

Fraction of the cost of a real ERP; handles higher transaction volumes smoothly

Manufacturing · 201–500 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Good but not perfect for our Vanderbijlpark team

The strengths are real and so is the invoice every month. The rand price moves when the exchange rate does, which makes budgeting interesting. The workflow builder is powerful once you learn its logic, and its logic takes learning.

Cons

Priced for companies that use all of it

Healthcare · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Frustrating experience for our 25 person team

The gap between the US product and what reaches South Africa is widest at this level. The price difference against Plus bought us features we opened twice.

Cons

Demo features unavailable in our region

Our 130 person company finally fits in one system

A genuinely capable tier that makes you pay for every bit of that capability. Revenue recognition works for simple schedules and gets fiddly past that. VAT stays correct through the automation, the batch invoicing, all of it.

Pros

Workflow automation a finance team can build

Cons

Priced for companies that use all of it

Financial Services · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Capable, expensive, occasionally puzzling

After 2 years on it the verdict is positive with footnotes. Reports are superb, dashboards less so. The rand price moves when the exchange rate does, which makes budgeting interesting.

Pros

Priority support with actual knowledge; handles higher transaction volumes smoothly

Cons

Paying for seats you may not fill
