Retail · 500+ employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Mixed feelings after 3 years

Deep functionality behind an interface from another decade. Documentation assumes your partner fills the gaps, and they charge to.

Cons

Needs proper server infrastructure

Operations Manager · Southern Cross Manufacturing Supplies

10 January 2025

Manufacturing · 11–50 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Frustrating experience for our 40 person team

Performance degraded as we grew, which is backwards for an ERP. We needed a DBA on retainer just to keep the system responsive.

Pros

Granular user security

Cons

Partner dependency with nowhere to escalate. Needed a DBA just to stay responsive

Financial Services · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Solid ERP with a desktop soul

Happy with it overall, our partner relationship makes the difference. The screens work but graduates raised on cloud software find them foreign. Approval workflows in procurement stopped orders nobody authorised.

Pros

Handles growing transaction volumes; sage Intelligence for exec reporting

Cons

Performance tuning needed as data grows

Good decision for a 180 person company

As a manufacturer, the bill of materials and WIP tracking fit us exactly. Serial number tracking sorted our warranty claims process completely.

Pros

Huge business partner network countrywide

Cons

Needs proper server infrastructure

Financial Manager

7 April 2026

Manufacturing · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Mostly happy in Kimberley, a few gripes

It does what we need, though rarely in a modern looking way. Customisations serve us well but each upgrade tests every one of them. The screens work but graduates raised on cloud software find them foreign.

Pros

One ledger across every module; serial and lot tracking that works

Cons

Custom reports need SQL skills or partner hours

Supply Chain Manager · Acacia Foods Group

19 March 2026

Food & Beverage South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Our business partner made the implementation work

After 2 years we know its strengths and we budget for its weaknesses. You need a proper server and IT discipline, this is not plug and play. VAT and SARS alignment is native, not an afterthought like the imports.

Cons

Implementation is a genuine project

It rewards the disciplined and punishes the casual. The screens work but graduates raised on cloud software find them foreign.

Exactly what our 14 person business needed

It was built here, and you feel that in how it handles VAT and SARS reporting. User security is granular down to the field level where we need it. Serial number tracking sorted our warranty claims process completely.

The SQL backbone makes all the difference

It was built here, and you feel that in how it handles VAT and SARS reporting. Our auditors connect their tools directly and the audit got shorter. Stock takes went from a weekend shutdown to a rolling count. Serious software that rewards a serious implementation.

evolution has been our backbone for 3 years

It scaled from our first 5 users to 12 without a replatform. Credit control workflows chase debtors before humans remember to.

Pros

Sage Intelligence for exec reporting; sQL Server foundation, no data black box

Cons

Good but not perfect for our Bloemfontein team

A capable ERP that gives back exactly what you put into the implementation. Performance needs tuning once the database grows past a few years of history.

Pros

One ledger across every module; sage Intelligence for exec reporting

Cons

Needs proper server infrastructure
