Mostly happy in Sandton, a few gripes

Great software navigating its own cloud migration with mixed grace. Desktop dies with the 2025 to 26 tax year and not everyone is ready.

Cons

Some workflows smoother on desktop still

Our accountant in East London recommended it, good call

RTI submissions file to HMRC on time, every period, without ceremony. The employee app shows payslips, P60s and leave without a single email from us. Worth every pound of the licence, and it is not many pounds.

Pros

Batch processing across employers

The engine is flawless, the era change around it less so. Support waits stretched during the transition rush.

Doing the job for us in Boksburg

RTI submissions file to HMRC on time, every period, without ceremony. The price per client is low enough that small employers stay profitable to serve. Pension re enrolment dates track themselves across every employer. Worth every pound of the licence, and it is not many pounds.

Pros

Batch processing across employers

Cons

UK and Irish legislation only

Running 30 UK client payrolls from Umhlanga

Year end P60s across the whole client book took an afternoon. Journal exports post into Xero and FreeAgent for the clients on cloud books. Our bureau would not run without it.

Year end P60s across the whole client book took an afternoon. Automatic cloud backups ended the desktop backup discipline problem.

Mixed feelings after 2 years

The engine is flawless, the era change around it less so. It is UK and Irish legislation only, an SA employer needs local software. The employee app shows payslips, P60s and leave without a single email from us.

Cons

History migration needs checking

Frustrating experience for our 25 person team

New pricing turned our smallest clients unprofitable to serve. Two client files migrated with pension history gaps we caught by luck.

Cons

Solid choice for our Kimberley business

The cloud platform means our UK clients approve runs in their portal overnight our time. Journal exports post into Xero and FreeAgent for the clients on cloud books.

Solid choice for our Randburg business

Our bureau in Stellenbosch runs 10 UK client payrolls on it and pay day has never once slipped. Support turnaround on a technical statutory question was under an hour. New tax year updates arrive seamlessly with the rates already right. The awards on their website are earned, we would add one.

Pros

Journal export to Xero and FreeAgent

The new pricing punished our small book

We loved the desktop and the desktop is being retired under us. Training the team on the cloud workflows cost a week we had not budgeted. Two client files migrated with pension history gaps we caught by luck.

Pros

Journal export to Xero and FreeAgent

Cons

Cloud quotes jumped over desktop pricing
