Mostly smooth sailing with the occasional bank feed sulk. One user means exactly one, my assistant cannot even capture slips without using my login. The AI categorisation learns my patterns, by month three it was getting nearly everything right.

My accountant suggested QuickBooks when I registered the company and it has been painless since. VAT at 15% is tracked on everything and the report matches what goes onto eFiling. Being able to raise an invoice on my phone in the client's parking lot is the feature I did not know I needed. If you outgrow it, the upgrade path is right there.

The core is lovely, the limits are firm. There is no bill management, so supplier invoices still live in my inbox. It nudged me to send a quote follow up that turned into my biggest job this year.

The bank feed from Standard Bank pulls everything in overnight and the AI guesses the category right most of the time. The 30 day trial needs no card, so there was zero risk in trying it properly. My admin evenings are now admin half hours.

After the promo ended the value equation stopped working for me. My Standard Bank feed dropped in July and stayed broken for almost a month. Duplicated transactions from the feed took hours to untangle at VAT time.

Good software wearing tight boundaries. The bank feed disconnects every few weeks and reconnecting means redoing the bank login dance. Being able to raise an invoice on my phone in the client's parking lot is the feature I did not know I needed.

For a product this polished the support experience is surprisingly poor. Fixing the VAT configuration cost me a consultation with my accountant.

As a freelancer my admin happens on Sunday evenings, and it now takes half an hour. The reports are basic but they tell me the two things I care about: what I made and who still owes me. For a sole trader I honestly cannot think of better value.

Happy overall, but the ceilings are closer than the brochure suggests. Capitec transactions arrive a day later than my other accounts for some reason. Receipt capture reads the slip and fills in the amount and supplier on its own.
