The Nedbank feed changed my Monday mornings

Happy enough to renew, not happy enough to rave. Support picked up within minutes the two times I actually needed them.

My bookkeeper in Benoni recommended it and she was right

Four stars because the core is excellent and the extras are not. The bank feed dropped for about a week in August and I had to import statements manually. Debtors reports show me exactly who owes what before I make the awkward phone calls.

Pros

Accountant access is included, no extra licence; fair monthly cost for what you get

Doing okay for our 6 person setup

Came from Xero for the local support and it has been a fair trade. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that.

SARS deadlines stopped scaring me

We got audited last year and pulling the records took minutes, not days. Recurring invoices run themselves on the first of the month, I do not touch them. The audit trail saved us in a SARS verification, every figure traced back cleanly.

Setup is quick even for non accountants

Support took days to come back to me

Honestly disappointed, and I say that as someone who recommended Sage for years. The stock figures and the physical count never agreed and we could not trace why.

Solid for the basics, reports could be better

Solid for invoicing and VAT, less convincing once stock gets involved. Some screens take a few seconds too long to load on slow connections.

After 2 years on it I can say the product has only gotten better. Recurring invoices run themselves on the first of the month, I do not touch them. It has genuinely given me my evenings back.

Good but not perfect for our Knysna team

We are happy on it for the basics but we have started bumping into its ceiling. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that.

Dashboard gives the cash position at a glance; slip capture on the phone works well

Good decision for a 5 person company

Switched over from spreadsheets about 3 years ago and honestly should have done it sooner. Recurring invoices run themselves on the first of the month, I do not touch them. Our auditors work in the file directly at year end so the handover schlep is gone. If you are a small business still doing manual books, just make the jump.

Pros

Bank feeds from the major SA banks are quick to set up; support agents understand SARS questions

Cloud based so load shedding does not cost you data

Inventory reporting is basic, detailed analysis means Excel

Does everything my 22 person business needs

We run our whole 22 person operation on it and the books have never been this clean. The dashboard tells me the bank balance, who owes me and what I owe, all on one screen. SARS deadlines come and go and I hardly notice them anymore.

Worth every rand of the monthly fee

Quotes go out from my phone while I am still standing at the client. The dashboard tells me the bank balance, who owes me and what I owe, all on one screen. The bank feed from Standard Bank has been rock solid, maybe two hiccups in 2 years. It just quietly does its job, which is all I ask of software.

VAT201 report maps directly to what eFiling asks for

Mobile app can lag when capturing slip photos

Good decision for a 40 person company

We invoice about 40 clients a month and the debtors list keeps itself tidy. The bank feed from Nedbank has been rock solid, maybe two hiccups in 4 years. My bookkeeper logs in from her side so there is no more emailing backups around.

Pros

Fair monthly cost for what you get; handles multiple small companies from one login

Cons

Support queue gets long around VAT deadlines

Doing okay for our 14 person setup

For a business our size it works, but I can see us outgrowing it. The stock module covers the basics but anything detailed means exporting to Excel. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that.

Setup is quick even for non accountants; bank feeds from the major SA banks are quick to set up

Cons

Project costing is not really there

Happy enough to renew, not happy enough to rave. Customer statements could look more professional without paying a designer.

Solid choice for our Cape Town business

After 2 years on it I can say the product has only gotten better. Quotes convert to invoices with one click and clients can pay straight from the invoice. Cannot see us outgrowing it for a few years yet.

I capture supplier invoices the day they arrive and cash flow finally makes sense. Quotes convert to invoices with one click and clients can pay straight from the invoice. The bank feed from Absa has been rock solid, maybe two hiccups in 2 years.
