Happy customer in Klerksdorp

I run three small companies and manage all of them from one login. Recurring invoices run themselves on the first of the month, I do not touch them. For the price I honestly cannot fault it.

Cloud based so load shedding does not cost you data

Statement templates are a bit plain

Great fit for a small Johannesburg business

We came off desktop Pastel and the move was far less painful than I feared. It handles our small stock list fine and warns us when items run low. Our auditors work in the file directly at year end so the handover schlep is gone. Five stars from me and from my accountant.

The Start plan is limited to one user

Solid choice for our Mossel Bay business

Quotes go out from my phone while I am still standing at the client. It does what the brochure says, which is rarer than it should be.

Good but not perfect for our Benoni team

There is a lot to like here and a few things that need honest work. The stock module covers the basics but anything detailed means exporting to Excel. Adding my admin lady as a second user cost R75 a month, which felt fair.

Rand pricing with a proper local support line; vAT201 report maps directly to what eFiling asks for

Cons

Some screens feel slow on weak connections

Not what we hoped for our Mbombela business

For what we pay now after the increases, my expectations are simply not being met. The feed duplicated a full month of transactions and untangling it took my bookkeeper a week. Phone support kept escalating me and nobody ever phoned back.

Exactly what our 22 person business needed

Quotes go out from my phone while I am still standing at the client. It handles our small stock list fine and warns us when items run low. Payroll journals come across from Sage Payroll on their own, nothing to capture twice. Would recommend it to any small business in South Africa without hesitation.

Setup is quick even for non accountants; slip capture on the phone works well

Does the job but stock control is thin

Came from Xero for the local support and it has been a fair trade. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that. Yoco payments reconcile against invoices without me lifting a finger.

Slip capture on the phone works well

Stock module not suited to serious warehousing

Mostly happy in Upington, a few gripes

Happy enough to renew, not happy enough to rave. The mobile app lags when capturing photos of slips, especially on Android.

Pros

Works fine on a tablet at the counter; 30 day trial with no card needed

Cons

Support queue gets long around VAT deadlines

Decent system that occasionally tests my patience. Price increases have come through every year, still fair but the trend worries me. It handles our small stock list fine and warns us when items run low.

Working well for our 6 person team

The VAT201 report matches what we capture on eFiling line for line. Support picked up within minutes the two times I actually needed them. Month end used to take three days and now the file is closed by lunch on the first. Would recommend it to any small business in South Africa without hesitation.

We are happy on it for the basics but we have started bumping into its ceiling. Customer statements could look more professional without paying a designer.

Best move we made for our admin

Solid for invoicing and VAT, less convincing once stock gets involved. The bank feed dropped for about a week in October and I had to import statements manually. The Afrikaans support agent I got walked me through my first VAT return patiently.

Decent fit for a 5 person company

There is a lot to like here and a few things that need honest work. I wish budgeting was built in properly instead of feeling like an afterthought. The audit trail saved us in a SARS verification, every figure traced back cleanly.
