Decent fit for a 18 person company

For a business our size it works, but I can see us outgrowing it. Some screens take a few seconds too long to load on slow connections.

VAT201 straight onto eFiling with no drama

For a small trades business in Knysna this hits exactly the right level. Our auditors work in the file directly at year end so the handover schlep is gone. VAT at 15 percent is calculated on everything automatically and the return is basically ready when SARS comes knocking. It does what the brochure says, which is rarer than it should be.

Not what we hoped for our George business

Two years in and the same small bugs are still there. Reports would not give me the one breakdown SARS asked for and I rebuilt it by hand.

Cons

Long standing small bugs never seem to get fixed. Price keeps climbing while the gaps stay the same

Decent fit for a 110 person company

Four stars because the core is excellent and the extras are not. Multi currency costs extra, which stung when we landed our first Namibian client.

Mostly happy in Pietermaritzburg, a few gripes

Solid for invoicing and VAT, less convincing once stock gets involved. Multi currency costs extra, which stung when we landed our first Namibian client. Support picked up within minutes the two times I actually needed them.

Doing the job for us in Roodepoort

It was the accountant access that sold me, she works in the same file I do. My bookkeeper logs in from her side so there is no more emailing backups around.

Great fit for a small Ballito business

As a Cape Town based business we wanted something local and this delivered. Would recommend it to any small business in South Africa without hesitation.

Working well for our 4 person team

The Standard Bank bank feed pulls everything in overnight so reconciliation is just confirming matches. Everything syncs to the cloud so load shedding at the office just means I work from home.

Good but not perfect for our Stellenbosch team

For a business our size it works, but I can see us outgrowing it. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that.

Everything in one place at last

I capture supplier invoices the day they arrive and cash flow finally makes sense. Everything syncs to the cloud so load shedding at the office just means I work from home. I especially rate the supplier side, capturing bills takes seconds. If you are a small business still doing manual books, just make the jump.

Solid choice for our Potchefstroom business

Everything I invoice, every slip I capture, it is all in one place now. Quotes convert to invoices with one click and clients can pay straight from the invoice. It handles our small stock list fine and warns us when items run low.

Pros

Works fine on a tablet at the counter; fair monthly cost for what you get

Cons

Report layouts cannot really be customised

Mixed feelings after 2 years

There is a lot to like here and a few things that need honest work. Price increases have come through every year, still fair but the trend worries me. The bank feed dropped for about a week in March and I had to import statements manually.

Foreign currency is a paid extra

The everyday stuff is great. The moment you need something unusual it gets harder. Adding my admin lady as a second user cost R75 a month, which felt fair.

No complaints after 2 years

Quotes go out from my phone while I am still standing at the client. Once the customer list was imported the rest of setup was quick. Month end used to take three days and now the file is closed by lunch on the first.
