My bookkeeper in Knysna recommended it and she was right

Happy enough to renew, not happy enough to rave. Support is friendly when you reach them but the queue can be long at month end. The Afrikaans support agent I got walked me through my first VAT return patiently.

Accountant access is included, no extra licence; payroll journals post across automatically

Cons

Foreign currency is a paid extra

It does most things well and a few things averagely. Price increases have come through every year, still fair but the trend worries me.

Solid choice for our Roodepoort business

Our practice put all our small clients on it and the feedback has been consistently good. You can see profit per month at a glance, which changed how I price jobs. It flagged a duplicate supplier invoice last month and paid for itself right there. Would recommend it to any small business in South Africa without hesitation.

Cloud based so load shedding does not cost you data; supplier bill capture is quick

Serving our Durban operation well

I am not an accountant and I still manage the full cycle myself every month. Month end used to take three days and now the file is closed by lunch on the first. Cannot see us outgrowing it for a few years yet.

Support agents understand SARS questions; handles multiple small companies from one login

Decent fit for a 8 person company

For a business our size it works, but I can see us outgrowing it. Multi currency costs extra, which stung when we landed our first Namibian client.

Pros

Quotes and invoices are genuinely fast; supplier bill capture is quick

Project costing is not really there

Our Roodepoort office gave up on it

I wanted to like it but the last six months have been one frustration after another. Cancelling was harder than signing up, which tells you something.

Rand pricing with a proper local support line

Cons

System slowed right down at month end when we needed it most

Mostly happy in East London, a few gripes

Four stars because the core is excellent and the extras are not. Report customisation is limited, you get their layouts and that is that.

Recurring invoices and statements run themselves

The Start plan is limited to one user

After 2 years on it I can say the product has only gotten better. Debtors reports show me exactly who owes what before I make the awkward phone calls. Solid product, solid support, fair rand pricing.

Good product overall though it took me longer than expected to find my feet. The stock module covers the basics but anything detailed means exporting to Excel. Month end used to take three days and now the file is closed by lunch on the first.

Decent system that occasionally tests my patience. The bank feed dropped for about a week in February and I had to import statements manually.

Pros

Cloud based so load shedding does not cost you data; rand pricing with a proper local support line

Cons

Mobile app can lag when capturing slip photos

Frustrating experience for our 6 person team

For what we pay now after the increases, my expectations are simply not being met. Reports would not give me the one breakdown SARS asked for and I rebuilt it by hand.

We got audited last year and pulling the records took minutes, not days. I photograph slips with the phone app and the capture is surprisingly accurate. You can see profit per month at a glance, which changed how I price jobs. Cannot see us outgrowing it for a few years yet.

Our Mbombela office gave up on it

Signed up on the strength of the reviews and regretted it within the first quarter. Every price letter says the same thing about added value I am not seeing. My support ticket about the FNB feed sat unanswered for four working days.

Cons

Stock counts never reconciled and nobody could tell us why. Price keeps climbing while the gaps stay the same

For a business our size it works, but I can see us outgrowing it. Price increases have come through every year, still fair but the trend worries me. Our auditors work in the file directly at year end so the handover schlep is gone.

VAT201 report maps directly to what eFiling asks for; debtors management is simple and clear

Statement templates are a bit plain
