CFO

29 November 2024

Food & Beverage · 51–200 employees South Africa Used for 1–2 years

Exactly what our 95 person business needed

Bill of materials revisions finally match what engineering actually builds. Import costing spreads duties and freight properly across landed stock. The training academy meant our new planner arrived already competent. Our factory would not run without it, simple as that.

Pros

Native SA VAT and statutory layer

Cons

Module licensing needs careful scoping

Mining · 201–500 employees South Africa Used for 2+ years

Local support in our time zone, priceless

MRP suggestions respect our lead times and the weak rand on imported inputs. WIP tracking ended the month end guess about half finished stock. Quality holds stop suspect batches from shipping automatically. For SA manufacturers this is the serious local answer.

Mobile experience is functional only

Our food plant passed audit on its records

The capability is real and so is the learning curve. Licensing by module needs careful scoping up front. The scheduling board shows the floor what reality allows, not what sales dreamed.

Pros

Recall grade lot and serial traceability; job costing that tells the truth

Serving our Randburg operation well

Shop floor capture killed the paper travellers and the arguments they caused. VAT and statutory reporting come out locally correct by default. Recommended to every manufacturer who asks, and they ask.

Not what we hoped for our eMalahleni business

Modern UX expectations meet a system with heritage, repeatedly. Our graduates compared it unkindly to everything they knew.

Cons

Partner rates on every request. Upgrade broke customisations for a quarter

Doing the job for us in Rustenburg

The local pedigree matters: our feature request reached people who could ship it. Financials sit native, no interface file between the floor and the ledger.

Good but not perfect for our East London team

A deep manufacturing system that dresses for the factory, not the boardroom. Version upgrades are proper projects with partner hours attached. The training academy meant our new planner arrived already competent.
